new sin?
i am a new sin lvl 12 in factions and seem to be liking with little shadow art usage. Seems to be acting like a warrior. i don't like too much shadow usage but would like that option later on for variation. Can one be effective in completing the storyline in PvE using offensive skills with little armor and numerous monsters that one gets late on in the game? I am going A/Rit for the offence with splinter. Is that better than the A/Mo since the sin has a good inherent healing skill.
thx

This is the mistake that EVERY new assassin makes and is the reason why assassins are stereotyped to be terrible in general pve.
The name "assassin" implies exactly what it means, you ASSASSINATE. Shadow step in, pull off your combo, get out, that's what you do. It is near impossible for an assassin to stand there and tank a mob without the use of certain skills. Nowadays you'll see assassins cast shadow form and run in only to die 13 seconds later when their shadow form wears off.
In my opinion, the best secondary for an assassin is warrior for wild blow. Wild Blow guarantees a critical hit, and so many of the assassins skills rely on a critical hit to be renewed or to satisfy a condition

i agree with that but in PvE it would be effective for the sin as leader of the party of NPCs to take out the boss and the casters while the NPCs take out the rest of the low level monsters. The reason i am asking is because i like the visuals of the sin and its high DPS but i don't want to invest too time time if later on, a sin would become frustrating, dieing too quickly for PvE play. I do take a monk with me!!
thx

If your using henchmen
stay outside of monster aggressive range.
Find a target and press Shift+ctrl+space.
Your henchmen will rush that target and gather aggro, leaving you to pick off the target off your choice with less danger.
An assassin can be the last one to die if you know wtf your doing.

If you MUST pretend to be a tank Critical eye and Crit defense are must haves.
And splinters is not that great with daggers wailing weapon or another of the offense weapons would be better.

Alright so u don't want to be a sin who thinks he's a warrior. U want to know some good shadow ideas. If u want shadowstep then deaths charge and deaths retreat, same effect s Aura of Displacement *elite skill* just doesn't count as an enchant. Well if u want to live and put out good damage then why not use a simple build like Golden Phoenix strike, Twisting fangs, Moebious strike, Death blossom, Critical defences, Critical agility, mystic regeneration, res sig. U should be able to get the 2 before the res sig soon since ur lvl 12. Also for A/Rit when u reach lvl 20 how bout: Critical defences, splinter weapon, Golden Phoenix strike, critical strike, moebois strike, Death blossom, 1 whatever u want slot, and some res. I recommend way of perfection for extra slot but w/e.

thanks,
is this a viable tactic playing PvE with NPC's in factions, how can i tell my NPC's, not heroes to stay where they are, shadow step in do, the damage on the boss, than use "recall" to get back to the team or run for my life using death retreat?
thx

It's almost the same for henchies as for heroes. Only difference is that heroes can be individually selected, while henchies all hug each other. Click the flag button below the radar and place it where you want them to stay.
